Editorial Guidelines
Written and maintained by Denis Carver, Founder & Editor-in-Chief · Last updated July 2026
These guidelines govern every article, guide, and piece of content published on ZodiacSoulmate. They exist to hold us accountable — to our readers, to the accuracy of what we publish, and to the transparency our audience deserves.
If you ever read something on this site that feels inconsistent with what’s written here, we want to know. Contact us at contact@zodiacsoulmate.com.
What These Guidelines Cover
These standards apply to all editorial content published on ZodiacSoulmate, including long-form articles, compatibility guides, birth chart explainers, and hub pages. They do not apply to sponsored or clearly labeled promotional content, which is always disclosed as such.
Our Core Editorial Principles
Every article must address a real, specific situation or question — not a zodiac sign in the abstract. We do not publish content that could apply equally to any sign or any person. If a piece of writing says nothing that isn’t already said everywhere else, it doesn’t belong here.
ZodiacSoulmate does not claim astrology can predict individual outcomes. We treat it as a framework for identifying recurring emotional and behavioral patterns — one that many people find meaningful and useful. Claims of certainty about personal futures are never made.
Our job is not to tell readers what they want to hear. If a compatibility pairing is genuinely difficult, we say so. If a behavioral pattern has multiple interpretations, we present them. We prioritize honesty that helps over comfort that misleads.
We do not publish content designed to encourage unhealthy relationship dynamics, dependency, manipulation, or obsessive behavior. Articles about attraction and compatibility are written to help readers understand — not to help them control or trap another person.
When an article contains affiliate links, this is disclosed. Affiliate income supports our publication — it does not influence editorial decisions, the opinions expressed, or the products we feature. See our full affiliate disclosure on the About page.
Accuracy & Fact Standards
Astrology is an interpretive discipline — not an empirical science. Our accuracy standards reflect that distinction:
- Root behavioral patterns in widely accepted astrological interpretation
- Acknowledge uncertainty and variation within signs
- Distinguish between what astrology suggests and what it cannot determine
- Connect astrological observations to recognizable human behavior
- Correct errors when they’re identified — promptly and transparently
- Make categorical claims about individuals based on sun sign alone
- Present astrological interpretation as scientific fact
- Fabricate testimonials, studies, or statistics
- Use emotionally manipulative framing to drive engagement
- Publish content we haven’t reviewed for internal consistency
Corrections & Updates
We correct errors. When a factual mistake is identified — whether by a reader, a collaborator, or our own review — it is corrected in the article and noted with a brief update disclosure at the bottom of the relevant page.
Substantial rewrites that change the meaning or position of an article are disclosed. Light edits for clarity, SEO, or readability do not require disclosure.
To report an error, email contact@zodiacsoulmate.com with the subject line “Correction Request.” We aim to review all correction requests within 5 business days.
Sensitive Topics & Reader Wellbeing
Some of our content touches on emotionally difficult experiences — heartbreak, estrangement, loss, obsessive patterns. We take that responsibility seriously.
ZodiacSoulmate content is for entertainment and personal reflection. It is not a substitute for professional psychological support, relationship counseling, or mental health care.
If you are experiencing emotional distress related to a relationship, we encourage you to speak with a licensed professional. In crisis situations, please contact a mental health helpline in your country.
Editorial Independence
ZodiacSoulmate is independently owned and operated. No advertiser, affiliate partner, or third party has editorial input over the content we publish. Sponsored content, when it appears, is always clearly labeled and visually distinguished from editorial articles.
Our editorial positions are determined by Denis Carver and the ZodiacSoulmate editorial team alone.
